Southern Illinois prosecutors have charged a 26-year-old robbery suspect with murder after a store clerk shot and killed one of his alleged accomplices. Prosecutors say Michael Hunter of East St. Louis and 26-year-old Larando King were trying to rob the Quality Food Mart early Thursday.

Is Guantanamo Headed To The Heartland?
Federal officials are due to arrive in rural northwest Illinois to inspect a prison that could be bought by the federal government and used to house Guantanamo Bay detainees.
Officials from the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Defense are expected Monday at the Thomson Correctional Center. It's about 150 miles west of Chicago. What do you think?
