Some memories shared by viewers:
Steve Rosen of Oklahoma City, OK:
I was on the show twice. I think it was about 1960 or so. Joe Besser of the Three Stooges is one of my cousins by marriage.
J. L. Simpson of Eureka, MO
I was never fortunate to be on the show. I do remember watching the show, and I was about 4-5. I remember Capt.11 handing out Hostess fruit pies, and cakes, Twinkies, to all the kids in the TV audience, and everyone waving. We were to poor to eat Hostess cakes at that time. I was wishing I was there! I'm almost 46!
Steve Whalen of St. Louis, MO
I went down the "Mississloppi" so often that I don't think I was on the show. I knew Captain 11 (Harry Fender personally) My father was "Mike the Frog" for the Captain 11 Show. I have a picture of my brother, myself and the Three Stooges. "The Boys" will always hold a special spot in my heart.
Diana Steward
I was with my Brownie troop from Mullanphy School in South St. Louis. I was probably about 8, so it was in about 1960.
I always watched Captain 11 on TV, so when our Brownie troop leader (Mrs. Neudecker) said we were going to be on the show, I was so excited! Oddly enough, I don\'t have any memories about most of our visit there, except for at the very end, when all of us were getting up to leave the stage. My friend, Patty Duffy, and I were the last ones off, and Captain 11 had us two girls stand on either side of him and smile for the camera. I felt so special to be standing there with him! I still cherish this wonderful memory!
Tom Rodgers of Wood River, IL
I wasn't on the "Captain 11 Show", but April 28, 1959 was my eighth birthday. so we still kind of share something. I watched Captain 11 everyday after school, and I think I remember him being on the morning for a while too. My dad had grown up watching The 3 Stooges. He saw they were on Captain 11and turned my brother and me onto them, I remain a big fan. They came to Parson's Field in East St. Louis once, and my brother and I got to meet them.
