Q: Why won't the video play on my computer? You have to download Flash 8 or newer to allow the video to play. It is an easy, free download that takes up little space on your computer. Many news and entertainment web sites use Flash 8, so it's a good video player to have if you visit multiple web sites on a daily basis.
Q: I keep hearing about blogs on your newscasts. What is blogging? Where do I sign up? "Blogging" is a term short for "Web Log" (blog). It's an opinion forum, message board or a way to keep a public journal on the Web. People use blogs to talk about community issues or popular topics that happen on our newscasts. To participate, just click on "Blogs" in the red bar at the top of the page.

Q: I missed my favorite show or news broadcast. Can I get a copy of it?
It is KPLR's policy not to provide copies of our broadcasts. If you missed anything that aired on our station, (Featured Report, First Birthday, Top Story, etc.) we suggest you call this company. They can provide you with a videotape or digital version of your story: Media Watch: Fill out their form or call 314-646-7933. www.media-watch.tv.
Q: I am having trouble with the sound coming from my television. I'm hearing a narrative voice, maybe even in Spanish. What should I do?
News 11 began providing SAP (Secondary Audio Program) on some programs. This additional service consists of a narrative voice describing events on the screen for viewers who are visually impaired. When used this way the service is called Descriptive Video Service or DVS. SAP can be used to provide a second language such as Spanish on some programs. Your TV remote will allow you to modify the Set Up menu on your television receiver and de-select SAP if you don't want these services. Please consult your TV receiver User's Instructions as activating or disabling SAP differs with each TV set type.

Q: I am having trouble getting good reception on my television. How can I fix this problem? Our broadcast tower is located in Sappington, Missouri. Please point your television antenna in that direction to receive the best possible reception. A good rescource for antenna reception is antennaweb.org. You can also subscribe to cable or satellite TV--both carry our television signal.
Q: I'm hearing all this talk about DTV. What is it? Is News 11 broadcasting in DTV? In short, HDTV gives you better sound and video quality, more programming options, and the potential for using your TV in new and exciting ways.
