Monday was Anita's birthday, and Alicia's, and Eddie's, and Sydne's, and now, since 9:30 am, Mila's birthday as well. What's the big deal? Well, all 5 happen to belong to the very same family. March 29th is the birthday of each of them.Alicia Bams says, "It was kind've good to hear that another child in our family would be born on the 29th."
Meet the fifth member of the March 29th club. Mila Goods weighed in at 7 lbs, 4ozs in the morning of this March 29th. She is the daughter of Tiffany and Tyrone Smith and was born at St. Mary's Health Center on Clayton Road.
It all began 70 years ago with Anita Marshall. Her daughter, Alicia Bams, shared her birthday and it kept snowballing from there. Soon, Anita's grandson, Eddie Marshall, checked in on the same day. Then, along came granddaughter Sydne freeman and, now, Mila.
Bams says, "Now we have one more person to put on the birthday cake every year."
All are still alive except Eddie who died two years ago of medical complications at the age of 34.
After hearing about the multiple birthdays, folks at St. Mary's marveled at it. Mila slept through all that hoopla. She even slept through this year's birthday party but she's bound to be the star of the show next year. And, what a show it is.
"We all have a coke every year and it has everybody's names on it."
