The world's largest catsup bottle in Collinsville is getting a make-over. Just in time for the historic landmark's 60th birthday.
Reinneck Industrial Coating specializes in painting water towers. As the company that painted the catsup bottle back in 1995, they're back on the job again because they know that this is not your average water tower. This is Rodney Reinneck's second time around repainting the world's largest catsup bottle. For rod, this is still a one-time in a million experience.
It's the most unique job that I've been on. You're working and you're kinda consumed in the moment, just trying to get some paint on. As a member of the team that repainted the catsup bottle in 1995, and an Illinois resident, Rodney understands the pressure that comes with this job. This project is unlike any other water tower paint job, thanks to the use of over 80 gallons of 4 different paint colors. Not to mention the bottle's different dimensions. Reinneck's company is very proud to be chosen to paint the world's largest catsup bottle again.
Work on the catsup bottle began on June 15th, and Reinneck told me he expects the job to conclude before the landmark's 60th birthday celebration, which is July 12th. The project was conducted by the catsup bottle preservation group.
