Big River Running is hosting a charity meet tomorrow night at St. Louis University High School, In an attempt to raise money for two injured St. Louis track stars.
"It's a good cause. It's for two young athletes, local athletes. Brigette Schuetzman of Saint Louis University, and Mike Rathmann of St. Louis U. High. Both of them were injured in accidents a year ago." Ben Rosario - Big River Running
The festival of miles' goal is to help get these former track stars back on the healing track. The event hopes to raise $16,000 for both families. One special guest will be 2008 U.S. Olympian Leo Manzano running in the elite men's mile.
And local media members will race in a 100 meter dash. So who is running expert Ben Rosario's smart money on to win? It will be a great night to help out two injured runners that refuse to give up hope.
There are nine total races on the night, followed by a pasta dinner at SLU High School.
