Timothy's family told us the three year and his mother were going to his grandma's house which is right next door to their home. Apparently, little Timothy ran into the road. The family says Timothy's mother told him to stop and tried to flag down a Ford Explorer that was coming down the road. But the SUV hit the boy sending him airborne for a distance.
The boy's uncle, David Pruteanu, called 911- dispatchers gave him instructions for starting cpr. "They told me to help breath by blowing into his mouth. So that's all I did. Then another car came. It was a lady and she came and picked the baby up, set him on the asphalt and gave him cpr," explained Pruteanu.
Sergeant al Nothum with the Highway Patrol told us the investigation is ongoing but right now no charges have been filed. Nothum says the driver of the SUV stopped and alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.
We're told the SUV driver is telling troopers that he didn't see the little boy.
