An early morning fire at an auto dealer- creates a big mess. Not just for the dealership but for drivers.

The blaze broke out at Glendale Chrysler on Manchester road. It shut down Manchester Road during the morning commute. Crews from Glendale, Webster Groves, Rock Hill, and others converged on a fire that admittedly could have been a lot worse.

Glendale Fire Department's Assistant Chief Steve Siebert says, "It seems like it was isolated to one part of the building and the knocked it down pretty quick. So, very fortunate for the business."

Preliminary reports says it wasn't started by a car. But it did affect several cars in the shop.

Several cars with smoke damage and garage bays were blackened by the smoke. Anytime crews deal with oil based product fires. special precautions have to be taken.

The business re-opened around noon. No one was injured.
