EAST ST. LOUIS, IL -
A man is accused of sexually abusing a young girl, But that's just part of this troubling story.
Police say the victim in this case was just thirteen years old when the abuse was going on. They found out about it when the young girl had a baby.
Now the suspect, Tony Hickman, 25, of East St. Louis is behind bars at the St. Clair County jail.
Hickman reportedly abused the girl for several months beginning in February of last year. The girl's mother was a friend of Hickman's. The family is said to have known nothing about the abuse until just before the teen gave birth.
Reports say Hickman has denied any wrongdoing, but police are saying tests show he is the father of the young teen's baby. The teen has not been identified due to her age and the fact she's a sex abuse victim.
Hickman' is being held on $200,000 dollars bail.
