She's also grateful the smoke detector inside her home worked.
"The fire department put them up and that's what saved our lives," said Woodson.
"Thank god it works," said Alan Dickerson, Woodson's landlord.
He helped board up the home on Sunday night so no one would go inside.
Woodson's children and grandchildren weren't the only ones inside. Three other girls spent the night.
"I don't know what I would have done if something would have happened to those 3 little girls," said Woodson.
Woodson know it's going to be hard to find a home while repairs are being made but she's not worrying, just hoping someone will help.
"I pray that they will, a little bit adds up to much," she said.
For now she's just grateful to be alive and thankful for her smoke detector.
