TOWN AND COUNTRY, MO ( KPLR )—
Rush hour commuters traveling Interstate 64 from West St. Louis County need to be aware of some changes. MoDOT is preparing for the big re-opening of I-64 between Kingshighway and Brentwood and people out west are being impacted. The eastbound lanes of the highway between Mason Road and I-270 were re-striped this weekend. For the past two years there have been two lanes on 40 dedicated to Interstate 270, one northbound and one southbound. This lane arrangement helped traffic detour to 270 and then onto other interstates to avoid closed sections of I-64. With the interstate reopening in less than a month they need to re-stripe three straight lanes for I-64.
Now, people wanting to exit northbound on I-270 will have to use a shared lane.
And the on ramp from Mason Road will become the exit lane to southbound I-270.
The bottom line be prepared for changes as you a travel eastbound on Interstate 64 between Mason and I-270.
