The new Vince Vaughn comedy "Couple's Retreat" hits theaters Friday. The all-star cast includes someone very dear to the KPLR audience, Kristen Bell, who might be expanding her role on Gossip Girl.
In the movie, four couples plan the trip of a lifetime thanks to help from their friends Jason and Cynthia. However, once they arrive they must participate in some very unorthodox therapy sessions. Jason and Cynthia are played by Jason Bateman and Gossip Girl's Kristen Bell.
Melanie: "You're such a favorite with the CW audience, with Veronica Mars, now the voice of Gossip Girl, did you ever think it would become this phenomenon with young people?"
Kristen Bell: "I didn't know it would get as big as it has or span as many demographics. I wanted to be involved because of Josh Swartz, they've made a cool show that there's a reason a lot of people love."
Melanie: "And, there's been rumors you may make a cameo appearance, any truth to those rumors?"
Kristen Bell: "I don't know. I can't deny or confirm that's a question for Josh Swartz. He's the man with the plan."
Melanie: "But you want to right?"
Kristen Bell: "Of course, I always joke that I will be cast as a waitress and let the audience know I'm there for them."
When the director and producers began scouting locations for couple's retreat they considered a number of tropical islands, including Hawaii, Bali, and the Bahamas. They ultimately chose the place the considered to be the most beautiful spot on the planet, Bora Bora. This island is so remote the last movie filmed there was in 1979
