LINCOLN COUNTY, MISSOURI ( KPLR ) -
A long time political figure in Lincoln County Missouri is arrested for buying illegal drugs.
Associate County Commissioner Matthew Bass faces two felony charges for purchasing morphine and the highly addictive pain killer fentanyl. Undercover detectives received several tips from the public "the buy" was going to take place near bass' popular restaurant "Krumbly Burger".
Police had reportedly been watching Bass for several days. Troy's long time Mayor Charles Kemper called Bass a will respected citizen and public servant.
Tonight Bass remains in the Lincoln County Jail His cash bond set $20,000.
