Major Case Investigating Murder At Metro-East Motel
FAIRMONT CITY, IL ( KPLR ) - Guests of the Royal Relax Inn were were in shock on Sunday when police responded to the Fairmont City Motel for a suspicious death. Fairmont police requested help from the Major Case Squad which activated its detectives and determined the victim was murdered. "He's an Hispanic male we don't have a positive identification at this time but we are working this up as a homicidal death," said Major Jeff Connor, Major Case Squad deputy commander.

Nearly a dozen detectives began questioning guests and searched areas around the motel as if they were looking for any sort of clue.

For now they are not releasing a cause of death.

"Way to early to get into any specifics the autopsy's not going to be until tomorrow morning but we do have reason to believe this was a homicidal death," said Connor.

Anastaco Bostes is guest at the motel and said he was now worried about his own safety.

Police are asking for help while releasing few details.

"No details at all just that we're working a homicide and if anyone happens to know anything we ask them to contact the Fairmont city police department here in Illinois," said Connor.

There is one clue that could hold the answer. Surveillance cameras are all around the motel complex and police poured over those images in hopes one of the cameras caught a killer on tape.

"That's always a possibility," said Connor.

Major Connor went on to say the investigation was just beginning.
