WRIGHT CITY, MO ( KPLR ) - Seven months ago, a single mom in Warren County, Missouri, lost her car in a terrible accident. She had no collision insurance, so she's been trying to make it without transportation. Well, that all changed today thanks to some teenagers.

Carla basket got more than she bargained for when she signed up with the state run "Parents as Teachers." She just wanted tips on raising her 3 year old daughter, Trinity.

Her life got a tremendous setback when she wrecked her car in April. "Parents as Teachers" heard about that, and they heard about a project underway at the Wright City Academy Alternative School. Teenagers there were fixing up a 1993 ford escort wagon donated by a local salvage yard.

"Parents as Teachers" quickly put two and two together.
