Illinois To Suspend Road Closures For Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — The Illinois Department of Transportation says where possible it will suspend lane closures along state roadways over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

State Transportation Secretary Gary Hannig said Friday that the department is doing all it can to keep roads open and delay free.

Hannig says he hopes "suspending construction and opening lanes this Thanksgiving holiday will increase the chances of motorists getting to their destinations safely."
