The U.S. attorney's office said in a news release that grand jurors in Springfield returned the indictment Tuesday against 52-year-old Daniel Louis Slotterback of Lamar.
He is accused of robbing Great Southern Bank in Lamar on Aug. 4.
The affidavit says Slotterback gave the teller a note that stated, "Have a Gun Give Your 20-50-100 So No One Will Get Hurt (sic)." The teller reportedly gave Slotterback $1,430 from his drawer.
Authorities recovered $1,372 from Slotterback's vehicle when he was stopped shortly after the robbery and arrested.
The affidavit says Slotterback had been to the bank previously and that employees recognized him.
Phone and e-mail messages left for his attorney, Michelle M. Law, were not immediately returned.
